I began drawing very young. I still remember one of my very first drawings, a watercolor of a turtle for my big sister. The pleasure of gifting something I made was the fuel that fired many years of non-stop doodling. Still today I try to gift something handmade for each holiday or birthday.  This Christmas I gifted my co-workers each a portrait of their dogs.

No Face

After spending a great deal of time focusing on how aging of the face reflects much of a persons life and character in "A Face In Time," "No Face" is a spin off of that series. I wanted to push myself to articulate everything else of the portrait, but somehow the face keep getting in the way of that, so I removed entirely. Now with more of a focus on everything else, such as, how we hold ourselves and what we wear its proven to say much more about a persons character than I would expect. 

In this series I explore a fairly new medium PEN = PERMANENCE and I have to say working with this no erase medium is teaching me a lot. I love way the portraits pop on the paper and the immediacy of it all.
