Anti-Origami
My new portrait series, playing around with paper.
After watching "Between the Folds" a PBS documentary about origami, really made me think about manipulating paper in a very physical way, although I've never made a crane let alone any other paper creature, nor do I really want to. Origami advacates folds with no cuts. I really like the notion of anti-origami to create an image, so attached above is my 'Anti-Origami'. All pieces 18"x 24" drawing paper.
I'm still figuring out what works etc.. so there will be more to come.
By the way the documentary was very good. watch it!
So I have been neglecting the blog big time since my solo at Punctuation. There has been so many wonderful things happening around and to me since. And I've been in and out of my studio space just playing and experimenting with new ideas and material, very soon I will have show and tell. But until then here are some pretties.
